“A quick and easy double chocolate chip recipe kids and adults will love!”

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Servings:  24
Yield:  24 muffins

Ingredients

1 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
3 eggs
1 cup oil
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup chocolate chips
1/1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour
1 small box chocolate instant pudding

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F (165° C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add ingredients and mix well.
  3. Line muffin tin with cupcake wrappers.
  4. Fill muffin cups halfway.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. ENJOY!

Kitchen Notes

This recipe will make 24 cupcakes or 12 cupcakes and one loaf of bread. Bake the bread for 45 minutes. If you use the jumbo muffin tins, plan on cooking for 45 minutes. Chocolate muffins are pretty heavy, but these are perfect!

    I am most interested in the sugar-free recipes

      Hi Carolyn!
      Thanks for your comment. If you go back to the Recipe Box, the top 3 recipes are for the Starters. The Kitchen tested a Sugar-Free Starter. Use that and it will cut down on the sugar in your bread. Play around with the recipe and you can cut the sugar down even more! Happy Baking.

    What can I use instead of the instant chocolate pudding mix??

      The recipe box has a recipe for chocolate pudding so you can avoid the box mix if you wish. That is the substitution that we recommend. Hope that helps!
