“Chocolate, amaretto, coconut and almonds makes this a very fun Amish Friendship Bread variation.”
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 55 minutes
Servings: 15
Yield: 1 – 9 x 13 inch pan
Ingredients
brownie layer:
1/2 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
1 egg
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup flour
1/8 cup cocoa
1 small box chocolate instant pudding
just under 1/2 cup slivered almonds
coconut blondie layer:
1/2 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
1 egg
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup flour
1 small box coconut cream instant pudding
2 small handfuls of shredded coconut
extras:
shredded coconut
slivered almonds
1 tablespoon sugar
1 package hot cocoa mix (optional)
frosting:
Duncan Hines flavor creations starter frosting
Duncan Hines flavor creations chocolate almond flavor mix
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325° F (165° C).
- Spray a 9 x 13 inch pan with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle pan with hot cocoa mix.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add and mix together the brownie layer ingredients.
- Pour in pan.
- In another medium mixing bowl, add and mix together the blondie layer ingredients.
- Pour in pan.
- Sprinkle on top of the batter the extra shredded coconut and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- Bake for 55 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool.
- Mix Duncan Hines frosting starter with Duncan Hines flavor creations mix.
- Frost brownies.
- Top with extra shredded coconut and slivered almonds.
- ENJOY!

is it possible to use 1 teaspoon of amaretto liquor instead of the vanilla flavoring in each layer, so you don’t have to have the frosting for the amoretto taste?
