Happy December! First, thank you all for your speedy replies on Facebook about wanting an Amish Friendship Bread cookbook, and for letting me know that you prefer a real book versus an e-book. I plan to make it a priority in the new year and will be looking to all of you for your input.
I love how the Friendship Bread Kitchen has grown over the past couple of years! We are nearing 75,000 folks on the Facebook page, with over 5,000 on our mailing list, and I’d love to hear from you about what would make the Kitchen a better resource for you. For those of you who enjoyed Friendship Bread, the sequel will be published by Ballantine Books next month, as well as in 11 other countries. It’s called the The Avalon Ladies Scrapbooking Society and it’s about memories—not just the ones we already have, but the ones yet to be made. More importantly it’s about friendship and community, and how we are all connected in ways both seen and unseen.
It’s the sequel to my first novel, Friendship Bread, the book that kicked off the Kitchen back in 2009. It’s based on the lives of a handful of residents of Avalon, Illinois, a small river town that embodies both community and friendship. You can read more an excerpt of the novel here.

The Twelve Days of Kitchen Giveaway
For twelve days starting Friday December 7, 2012 I’ll be blogging a new giveaway post daily and giving away a review copy of a book (also known as an ARC) of The Avalon Ladies Scrapbooking Society along with a favorite Kitchen item. A new giveaway opens each day at 12:01 am PST and runs until December 18, 2012 at 11:59 pm PST, the Twelfth and final Day of Kitchen.

I just posted about how after reading a articile on your friendship breads I researched it and started making them….. and then poof in my email is your newletter, so being the nosey rosey that I am, I went to explore and much to my happiness are some new recipes for my starter kits..
