Read Me! Reader Inspiration Kits

I’ll admit it — I love to create things. It’s even more fun when I’m able to share it in either big ways (the books, the Kitchen) or small (little gift packages, notes). Today I’m doing a little bit of both.

What are these, you ask? They’re my own reader-inspiration packs or scrap packs, a prototype give-away that I’m playing with for my next book, Memory Keeping, which will be published in 2012. It’s the sequel to Friendship Bread and scrapbooking and memories are at the heart of this wonderful novel. I’m still writing, revising, and tweaking, but I’m loving this story as much as Friendship Bread. And I hope you will, too!

This giveaway is for four 4″ x 6″ reader inspiration scrap packs. Each pack will include some fun scrapbooking/journaling/collage materials and embellishments, along with first chapter booklets of all of my novels (three written as Mia King, one as Darien Gee). Each pack is different since I’m assembling and creating from scratch, using a mix of new and found objects.

To enter, tell me (1) your name, (2) where you’re from (city, state), (3) your favorite color and (4) how you’re creative in your life. Karma points for anyone who’s read and enjoyed the book. If you hop over to Amazon and Barnes & Noble and give the book a thumbs-up (just click “Like”) or leave a review — I would really appreciate it!

Contest closed Friday, October 21, at 11:59 pm PST. I’ll choose four winners and you’ll need to check back here to see if you’ve won — Kitchen Assistant Susan and I are too busy in the Kitchen this autumn to chase down winners! Good luck!

Congrats to our four winners: Kim Steadman from Colorado, Sue Kelley from South Carolina, Sharon from Pennsylvania and Kristen Wick from Michigan. Please send your mailing address to fbkitchen at gmail dot com or send us a message through our website contact form.

I’m from Bunbury in Western Australia. I bought and read your book ‘friendship bread’ first because it reminded me of the friendship bread that was around some 30 years ago. I loved the book and now cook regularly with the mix. I have passed it (the book and the mix) on to friends along with samples of all the different kinds of bread, scones, cake etc I could make. Some of the ingredients aren’t available here in Australia but I have been able to improvise and make some delicious recipes.
