Recipe at a Glance

  • omit cinnamon
  • decrease milk to 1/2 cup
  • substitute white chocolate instant pudding for vanilla pudding
  • substitute almond extract for vanilla extract
  • add 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • add 1 cup Craisins
  • top with 1/2 cup white chocolate chips and 1/2 cup slivered almonds

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 75 minutes
Servings: 16
Yield: 2 cakes

Ingredients

1 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
2 small boxes of white chocolate instant pudding
1 cup Craisins
1 cup white chocolate chips, plus 1/2 cup for topping
1/2 cup slivered almonds for topping

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F (165° C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add ingredients as listed.
  3. Grease two 8 x 8 pans.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into cake pans.
  5. Sprinkle 1/2 cup white chocolate chips and 1/2 cup cup slivered almonds over batter.
  6. Bake for 75 minutes or until the bread loosens evenly from the sides and a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean.
  7. ENJOY!

Kitchen Notes

This cake takes longer to bake because of all of the additions. You can also substitute 1 cup cranberries for Craisins.

    I love this recipe… I didnt have white chocolate pudding so I used one chocolate and one french vanilla. Yummy. I made them into tiny loaves and it made 16 of them and they only took 23 minutes.
