Dear Kitchen Friends,
It’s been a busy couple of months as I finish up the manuscript for Memory Keeping, the sequel to Friendship Bread. I’ve had the good fortune to connect with many wonderful book clubs and libraries and I’m grateful to all of you who’ve read the book and taken the time to let me know how much you enjoy it. This week I learned that Friendship Bread is the #1 Top Rated book on Kindle for literary fiction and family saga! (Image to right is courtesy Mary Pilcher—thank you, Mary!)
“Not many books capture your heart and your attention so much so that you don’t want to put it down. This is one of those books.”

In other book news, the Australian edition of Friendship Bread was released, and the Brazilian edition is on its way. We always have fun ways of connecting with overseas readers, so be sure to check on our Facebook wall for opportunities to win books and/or connect with readers abroad.
We always a fun contest or two going on. Check the right menu bar for current contests, and good luck!
Our Recipe Box is filling up! We now have over 180 Amish Friendship Bread variations, toppings, and glazes. We’re starting to focus on holiday variations so you’ll have more choices during those busy times. If you have a recipe that you’d like to share, be sure to snap a picture and submit the recipe to our Recipe Box by clicking here.
And here’s a new recipe that has yet to be posted into our Recipe Box–we hope you enjoy it! Cinnamon Raisin Walnut muffins, with images courtesy Rachelle Bowden. These are fast and easy to make. And because they’re made using Amish Friendship Bread starter, they store easily in the freezer (and defrost quickly) so you can have one at breakfast or for a midnight snack, whenever you want!
That’s all from me … oh, and if you haven’t joined our spam-free mailing list yet, scroll to the “Subscribe” box on the right menu bar and add your email. We have yet to send out an e-newsletter, but when we do, I promise it’ll be worth the wait. We’ll have a random drawing for subscribers only (book and bakeware, as always!) plus a first-look at new recipes.
Our Kitchen community on Facebook in 68,000 strong, and our community forum, The Kitchen Table, has an active group of readers and bakers who are wonderful at helping one another out. I hope you’ll have a chance to visit one or both places and say hello. Thanks for joining us in the Kitchen!
