This mixed Berry Compote recipe makes the perfect topping for Amish Friendship Bread pancakes, waffles, and cakes!

  • 2 cups mixed frozen berries strawberries, blackberries, raspberries or blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar honey or Splenda
  • teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • ¼ cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  1. Combine fruit, lime juice, salt and sweetener in sauce pan.
  2. Simmer and smash fruit to desired texture.
  3. Whisk cornstarch into cold water.
  4. Slowly add cornstarch slurry to heated fruit to desired thickness.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
