The original Amish Friendship Bread recipe works perfectly for the bread machine with just a few minor changes. Bread machine flour was not used in this recipe. Various machines will have slightly different results.

    This is awesome!

I followed the recipe but my bread turned out raw in the middle. Had to throw the whole mess out. The sides and top looked done prior to cutting the loaf. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear that Paula! What setting did you use on the Bread Machine? Someone told me that bread machines vary in the way they cook sweet bread.

I used the sweet bread setting. Maybe mine doesn’t get hot enough? It is 11 years old.

        • Susan says:

          Hi Paula!
Thanks for responding back. We’ve heard different results with different machines. I suggest you try it on your longest baking setting and see how that goes!!
It is fun experimenting. Thanks for sharing with us in the Kitchen.

this happened to me also when I made the bread yesterday, I scooped out the raw middle and put the dough in a small loaf pan and baked it for 35 min in a 350 oven; I also too the outer part of the loaf from the bread machine pan and sliced in half and baked it for about 15 min- all is well the family still liked it even though it was not pretty
